Tinka Renee Garrett, 55 of Alexandria, VA, transitioned from this life on January 27, 2021. Tinka was affectionately called “Renee” and was also known as Laticia Renee Short and “Mama Drama”. She was born on July 2, 1965 to the late Betty Short and Robert Short, in Washington, D.C.Renee was a vivacious woman and a Maverick; always the wild card. Even in her youth, she exhibited a strong passion for life and keen awareness. She was inconspicuously intelligent and dared anyone to tell her differently. I mean, Anyone! Quiet as it was kept, not only was Renee sharp as a whip but she was also the life of the party; just ask your neighbors, they’ll tell ya!Though we mourn Renee’s transition from this life, we celebrate and glorify her life because a part of Renee will still live in us all. Surviving Renee are her three sons, Jeffrey Clifton Paylor, Rodney Revon Paylor III and Lucky Brandon Short.On Monday, February 8, 2021, visitation for Celebration of Life will begin at 9:00 am until time of service at 10:00 am at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 2294 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD.
