Peacefully on July 19, 2016, Thomas Shannon, Sr. departed this earthly life in Clinton, MD. Family and friends will unite on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer AME Church, 7707 Allentown Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. Other service and interment will take place in Camden, South Carolina.
Mrs. Shannon, Shannon Jr & Family please accept my deepest condolences and prayers. I loved when Mr. Shannon would call to speak with his son at work in his booming voice that should have been on the radio. It gave me the chance to chitchat everyday and through the phone I could tell that he was a warm, loving and caring father and husband. He always took the time to ask me how I was doing although now I realize that he may have been in pain doing so. This serves as a reminder of his character and compassion that he was thinking of someone else instead of what he was going through. I always insisted that Shannon call him ASAP by telling him that my Boo called and we would laugh. I know what it feels like to lose a Man, Husband and Father rolled all in one but take comfort that he is with the Lord in the land of no more suffering and pain. Thank God for being blessed to have had this rare gem of a man in your lives. May God continue to cradle and carry you through this difficult time and Bless you abundantly.
