Ryan L. Hammett, 24, was born on May 4, 1987, in Clinton Maryland. Beloved son of Russell Lloyd Hammett, Sr., and Tamra Shannon Hammett; beloved brother of Russell (“Rusty”) Lloyd Hammett, Jr.
Ryan attended St. Mary’s Star of the Sea School from K-5, where he recieved his First Holy Communion and also served as an alter server. He attended Matthew Henson Middle School, and he graduated with Honors at Maurice McDonough High School in 2005.
Ryan was an exceptional soccer player for over ten years, playing “right wing” (and occasionally an awesome goalie) with the “Chargers” and the “LaPlata Blackhawks” on the select soccer league.
He was in the chorus for four years and his middle school chorus won first place in the muti-state competition in Florida.
As a member of the “Young Life,” he enjoyed two years of its programs and adventuresome trips to New York.
He was a Club Scout and a Boy Scout under St. Joseph’s Church.
Ryan was extremely meticulous in everything he did…from his room, to his home, to his cars, to his grooming, to his clothing. he was a beautiful, handsome young man.
Ryan attended Anne Arundel Community College for a brief time before his life ended too shortly.
He leaves behind loving family members: “Ya Ya,” and Grandmom; Uncle Scot, Aunt Tracey, and Aunt Robin; his cousins Brandon, Shannon and Emily, and their families; Godfather Mike Harris; and so many, many friends who loverd him deeply.
Services were held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at St. Mary Star of The Sea Parish. Interment was private.
