KENNEDY RICHARD V. KENNEDY

Richard was born to Gertrude M. Kennedy and the late Vandy Kennedy on August 27, 1953 in New York City. He peacefully transitioned on the early morning of Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD. For 31 years he was married to Gwendolyn Y. Green-Kennedy. He adored his children Jason and Lynsey, daughter-in-law LaNita, and his son-in-love Travis Watson. His granddaughter, Naomi, was the apple of his eye. Also mother, Gertrude Kennedy; sister, Sylvia Kennedy and a host of other relatives and friends.

Richard earned his high school diploma from Seward Park HS in New York City, and earned several computer certifications. His love for computer science began at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he started his career in Computer Information Systems. He joined the U.S. Air Forcec and was stationed at Aviano AB, Italy; Reese AFB, Texas; Eielson AFB; Alaska; and Bolling AFB, Washington DC. He retired from military service in 1994.

A life well-lived he leaves behind a legacy of love.

Visitation on Wednesday, July 21, from 12 noon until time of service, 1 p.m., at Outreach Christian Center, 6701 Clinton Manor Dr., Clinton, MD. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements by BRISCOE-TONIC FUNERAL HOME.
