Milton A. Jackson, Jr., son of the late Esther Gwendolyn Morgan and the late Milton A. Jackson, Sr., was born in Washington, DC on July 3, 1945. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2010.Milton Jackson, also known as “Billy,” received his education through the District of Columbia Public Schools. He attended Haynes Elementary School, Robert H. Terrell Junior High School, and McKinley Tech High School, graduating from both Terrell and McKinley as “Most Outstanding” and an honor roll student. His name appeared on the honor roll walls at Terrell JHS and McKinley Tech until both schools were remodeled.Billy was drafted into the US Marines in 1965, ranking as Lance Corporal, and later honorably discharged in 1967. Afterwards he worked several years at a printing company in Georgetown until retiring on disability.Billy lived his life to the fullest with his family and friends. He was known for his unique laugh, kindness, generosity, honesty, and showing love to all God’s creatures, especially the birds. He also maintained a sincere bond with his family and friends. At a young age, Billy was baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and served as an alter boy for several years. He continued with his strong faith as an adult to worship wherever the doors were open. His saying was “God take care of all creatures, so don’t worry about me.” He leaves to mourn: one son; Milton Jackson, III, three sisters: Arlean Owens, Francine Morgan, Dorann Morgan, one brother: James Morgan, III, one brother-in-law Tauchious Owens Jr, and he was predeceased by one brother: Dennis Morgan; he also leaves one daughter-in-law Andrea Jackson; one granddaughter Reaghan Kennedy Jackson, more than twenty nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, and a host of other relatives and friends. Milton will be missed by many.
Services will be held Monday July 26, 2010 at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home 9 am.
