Peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018, Mercedes L. Edwards departed this earthly life in Bowie, MD. Family and friends will unite on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 1105 50th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20019. Interment will follow at National Harmony Memorial Park in Hyattsville, MD.

I’ll miss my friend Mercedes, but remember this not the end for her, its a new beginning.
The author, Kahlil Gibran wrote. "I have been here since the beginning, and I shall be until the end of days; for there is no ending to my existence. The human soul is a part of a burning torch which God separated from Himself at Creation."
When she left her earthly body, it was time for her move to the next level of her existence.
God has spoken, lets say amen. Rejoice and be glad for the time he has allowed her to be with us.
