Mary Monica Bradley Caldwell
February 10, 1963 – August 17, 2010
God saw the hills too hard to climb and her pains too much to bear, so he gently took her in his arms and took her home to rest.
Mary Monica Bradley Caldwell was born on February 10, 1963 in Leonardtown, Maryland to the late Samuel and Imogene Bradley of Piney Point, Maryland.
“Monica” as she was lovingly called, grew up in an affectionate household where she was admired by her nieces and nephews who dotingly referred to her as their sister.
Monica received her formal education from the St. Mary’s County Public School System and graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1981. Advancing from LHS, Monica briefly attended Bowie State University. After successfully completing her freshmen year Monica enlisted in the United States Navy in April of 1982. Active in the military for 13 years 9 months and 22 days, Monica was a decorated service member who received several awards and medals including but not limited to the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Overseas Service Ribbon w/Star. After leaving the Navy in February 1996, Monica worked as a management analyst and administrative assistant until April of 2009 in and around Patuxent River and Laurel Maryland.
Monica was blessed with two children; Shauna Renee Caldwell, in September of 1984, and Tiffany Nicole Caldwell, in September of 1987. Monica valued and enjoyed spending time with her girls.
Monica had the ability to light up any room with her beautiful smile and big bright brown eyes. Monica loved to travel and to go out on the town with her friends and family. Monica was very involved in the community and was an active member of Changing Gears Motorcycle Club.
God, in His infinite power, called from labor to reward our beloved Mary Monica Bradley Caldwell on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 1:48 pm at the VA Medical Center in Washington D.C.
In addition to her two daughters, Monica leaves loving memories in the hearts of her beloved siblings: a brother, Samuel L. Bradley; a sister, Wendy Taylor; two brother-in-laws William Reeves and Earl Taylor; one sister-in-law, Johanna Bradley, and nieces and nephews Byron, Kirk, Joel (Bruce), and Scott Morgan, Ella Reeves, Dawn Washington, Janette (Neicey) Cooper, Wynter, Samuel N., Toi (Crystal), Randy, Andre, and Mark Bradley; A lifelong best friend, Carla Bowman White, and a host of great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Monica was preceded in death by her legal guardian’s brother-in-law Joseph W. Morgan, and sister Gloria J. Morgan; sister, Gail M. Reeves, and parents Imogene and Samuel Bradley.
Mary Monica Bradley Caldwell was one of a kind; she was a pure spirit with a generous soul and will always be remembered for the beautiful and strong woman that she was.
Gone to soon, Monica is deeply missed, and will be forever loved by her children, friends, and family.
