Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Rhone was born on August 6, 1951 in Hollywood, Maryland to the late Raymond Joseph Somerville and Mary Cecilia Bond. After a long period of illness, our Lord Jesus Christ called her home on January 22, 2021. Jackie’s education was achieved in the St. Mary’s County Public School system. Her hard-working approach to her career, transitioned her from cashier to General Manager within the Hardee’s franchise. During her career promotions at Hardee’s, she relocated from St. Mary’s County, Maryland to Laurel, Maryland, where she later retired from the franchise, and pursued a career with the Department of Defense. In 2020, Jackie retired from her government position with the Department of Defense. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially during the annual family trips and cruises. She enjoyed traveling so much, that she decided to relocate to Stuttgart, Germany for a few years, continuing her career with the Department of Defense, as well as enjoying this new adventure in a different country. When visiting home, she enjoyed spending time with her sister Ann, visiting other family members, shopping, and going to the casinos. She enjoyed cracking jokes, spending time and talking almost every day with her brother, Kenny. She enjoyed yearly visits from her sister, Linda and her late sister, Rina. On her down time, without interruption, she loved watching her soap operas. Her infectious smile and grin, always brightened up the room, and made everyone (brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends) want to be around her. Although she did not have biological children, she had a very special motherly bond with Robert “Rob” Thomas and Patricia “Lynn” Bond, and their children. They will cherish her memories. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by siblings, John Bond, Agnes “Sister” Jackson, James Bond, Berneice Bond, Rina Biscoe, and Francis Thomas. Jackie is survived by her siblings, Joseph Thomas (Jackie) of Bryantown, MD, Ann Jenkins of Waldorf, MD, Arthur (Bill) Thomas of Lexington Park, MD, Raymond Thomas, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, Kenneth Thomas of Jacksonville, NC, Linda Wooden of Lexington Park, MD, Rodney Thomas (Jualita) of Lexington Park, MD. On Thursday, February 4, 2021, visitation will begin at 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 22375 Three Notch Rd, Lexington Park, MD. Interment following in the church cemetery.
