
Margaret “Maggie” Thompson of Maddox, Maryland, was born July 11, 1909 in Chaptico, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late John Frank Briscoe and Margaret Thomas. She departed this life on December 5, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Leonardtown MD. Margaret worked for years as a domestic engineer. She enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo at the Ripple Center and making quilts. She would always tell you that “God only gives as much as you can stand”.
She was preceded in death by late husband, Joseph I. Thompson; son’s – Joseph Edmund and John Henry Thompson; daughter’s – Doris Theresa Plater and Margaret Patricia Toomer; sister’s Regina, Agnes and Rebecca; brother’s John, William, Clarence and James Briscoe.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children; Clarence “Sonny” Thompson, George Thompson, Constance “Connie” Branson, Alvin Thompson, Melvin “Bernie” Thompson; a granddaughter whom she raised as her daughter Shelia Butler; a cherished niece Polly Rustin; Daughters-in-law; Thelma, Rose, Annetta, Neva, Gwenn and Joyce Thompson and Sons-in-law; Irvin Branson and Sam Butler; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial 10 am our Our Lady of the Wayside Church 37575 Chaptico Road in Chaptico, Maryland. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bushwood, MD.
