
Leslie “Les” John Harmon, 67, of Brandywine died of complications following open heart surgery Aug. 20, 2010, at Washington Hospital center, Washington D.C.
He was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Baltimore.
He served in the U.S. Army for six years with the 82nd Airborne Division and was a Vietnam veteran. His greatest enjoyment was his family and music. He was an avid gardener, handyman and fisherman and had a high regard for nature and the environment. He was a great friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kirk D. Harmon; mother, Rena I. Gandy; in-laws, William and Katherine grove; and brother-in-law, Clyde Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol A. Harmon; daughters, Melissa Saulnier, Wendy and her husband, Robert Beach, Kristin Harmon and Tracy Harmon-Young; grandchildren, Crystal Harmon, Jonathan Bowen, David Harmon, Christopher and Curtis Bowen, Kevin Saulnier, Bryan Schools, Zachary Schools, Jessica Harmon, Tyler Harmon, Roger Kelly Jr., Kristin and Katie Harmon and Summer Young; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Harmon and Christian, Lexi, Dustin and Allie Bowen; sister Janice and her husband Warren Underwood and family; sisters-in-law, Peggy Taylor, Barbra and her husband, Martin Padgett and Michele Frobes; brothers-in-law, William Jr. and his wife, June grove and Charles and his wife Darilyn; and many neices and nephews.
A private viewing will be held before cremation.
