God in His infinite wisdom and divine love, called from our midst the spirit of our loved one, Juanita Carter. Juanita departed this life on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Specialty Hospital of Washington (Hadley) in Washington, D. C.
Juanita was born to the late Alexander and Mary Emily Proctor on September 30, 1924. She was one of 3 children.
In her early childhood she was raised by her devoted Aunt Mabel R. Whitney. Juanita was a native Washingtonian was educated in the D. C. Public School System.
Juanita met and married Albert Louis Carter and had five children. It became her lifetime goal ensuring that her children were raised in a warm and loving environment. Juanita enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
Juanita retired from the United States Postal Service in November 1988 after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert L. Carter, her sister Agnes Proctor, and her aunt Mabel R. Whitney.
Juanita leaves to mourn her children, Norma T. Smith, Bernadette F. Baugh, Shirley Y. Pierce, Ernest C. and Kevin A. Carter; a devoted brother, William A. Proctor; grandchildren, Karen M. White (Alfago), Gerald H. Smith, Valerie T. Smith, and Kimberly R. Gaskins (Sean); great-grandchildren, Ciara N. Smith, Bria M., Bailee M. and Bianca M. White, Victoria E. and Jasmine Kral; great-great-grandson, James Harvey Edwards, IV; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Shirley,Kim and Family, I was saddened to hear of your loss. I know she has gone through so much. We know that she now has new life resting with our Father. May God continue to strenghten you and keep you close during this difficult time.
