On behalf of my family, our condolences to the Bond family for the loss of J. H., a good son, brother, father, uncle, husband and friend to many. I affectionately knew him as Dr. J. H. from his athleticism and basketball prowess from back in the day, dunking the ball one handed like his predecessor Doctor J. Wish we had it on tape for the youngsters to see. He will be sourly missed. May he rest in Heaven. ❤
    Donald Moses Sr.

  3. Bernard Johnson says:

John was a great guy. We would race to see who got their handshake in first. Rest well.

  4. Yvonne Boysen says:

“Mr. Bond” as we call him, has always been a friendly, cheerful and down-to-earth person and a true servant of God. He’s been bringing pumps for repair from DCA to our shop for many years. Every time he would come to our shop, he would brag and show us pictures of his grandkids and tells us how much he loves them.

We are deeply saddened by the news that John has passed away but at the same time find comfort that he left us to be with the Lord.

To the Bond family, our deepest sympathies. May God strengthens and give the family peace during this time. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. It’s been a blessing to know and worked with John. He will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the family, John and I have been friends for 30+ years and from the beginning it was God first than family. He would always talk about family outings, Cindy and the grandbabies especially. J was devoted and kind, would help you if he could, but just a all around good man. A true gentleman, but a man’s man in the life that he lived. J, we miss you already and family, again sorry for your loss. Doug Ray

When our Daddy James Bernard Torpedo Thomas, Sr. Passed in 1996 I vividly remember JH dropping by with a check for Mama (Delores). I was 17 and trying to figure this grieving and sympathy thing out since it was all so new to me. In his visit I learned the importance of showing up in the most difficult of times and it’s an example I try to follow and one I still recall. Love to you all.

  23. Steve Settle says:

I have had the privilege of knowing JH for over 30 years. We played softball together before we worked together at National Airport. To keep it simple, he was good people! Quick with a smile and a laugh, and always willing to help. I read this statement a long time ago and it fits John’s passing- Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, “Did you find joy?”, if yes, the second question was, “Did you bring joy to others?. We know his journey continues with all the joy he brought to us. Rest in Peace my friend, you will be missed.

  24. Brandon Wallace says:
