Peacefully on September 27, 2011 Janet Byrd Perry went home to be with the Lord. Family and friends will unite on Tuesday, October 4, from 10 A.M. until time of service 11 A.M. at Antioch Baptist Church 9107 Pineveiw Lane Clinton, MD 20735.
Janet Byrd Perry was born on June 8, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late James Glass and the late Louise Doyle Glass. She entered eternal rest on September 27, 2011 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Janet was married to the late Raymond Byrd, II and the late Nathaniel Perry. She attended Northside High School in Pittsylvania County. In 1962, she moved to Washington, DC.
She pursued a career in cosmetology and later retired from Giant Food. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining in her spare time. Janet also never turned down a game of Bid Wiz.
Janet leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Glenn Coleman (Donna Coleman) and Raymond Byrd, Jr.; daughters, Patricia Byrd Alston (James Alston) and April Byrd Young (Keith Young). She is also survived by three brothers Maurice, Michael, and Steve Glass; two sisters Linda Walker Dyson (Donald Dyson) and Verdell Glass Logan (Elijah Logan); grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relative and friends.
