
James Ralph Kelly, 67 of Leonardtown, MD, departed this life on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Cedar Lane Senior Living Home in Leonardtown, MD. James was born on September 4, 1950, to the union of Joseph Francis Kelly Sr. and Elizabeth Mary Kelly.
James attended St. Mary’s County Public School System. After high school, he spent a brief period of time in the United States Army National Guard. He started his lifelong passion as a construction worker at the age of 17 and enjoyed his profession for 48 years working alongside his two sons, Joseph Taylor and Matthew Milburn. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching Western movies, and the Washington Redskins during football season.
He leaves to cherish his memories his seven children, James Taylor, Sergeant Major Retired Renee McMillan, Kimberly Taylor, Joseph Taylor, LaTonya Milburn, Matthew Milburn and Megan Milburn, five sisters, three brothers, 23 grandchildren (two of whom are proudly serving their country in the United States Army, Specialist Steven E. McMillan, Jr. and Private First Class Devonte D. Taylor), two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memories the mother of his children, Catherine Ann Taylor and Donna Sue Milburn, with whom he maintained a loving friendship.
Service will be held at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 2294 Old Washington Rd, Waldorf, MD on Saturday, August 11, 2018 for visitation at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon. Immediately after the service, the interment will be held at Heritage Memorial Cemetery, 13472 Poplar Hill Rd, Waldorf MD.
