James Johnson, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 6, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ramona; his children: Denise (Alvin), Durham, Ronnell (Jackie) Johnson, Derrick (Monica) Johnson, Karen Bowie, Gerald (Carolyne) Bowie, and Dr. Michael V. Bowie; siblings Albert (Sylvia) Johnson, Constance (Lewis) Freeman, Shirley (Dr. Charles) Thomas, Penelope (Bernard) Smith, and Walter Johnson; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren ; and other relatives and friends. Visitation on Thursday, June 12, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1600 Morris Road, S.E., Washington, DC. Interment: Washington National Cemetery.
