Isaiah Matthew Thomas – father, husband, son, brother, friend and talented leader-died on Friday, April 24, 2020 at his family home at the age of 35.
Isaiah had many talents and skills, though he never regarded his talents and skills conventionally. The world has its priorities, but Isaiah was always much more concerned with meaning, purpose, value, and family. Over the last several years, his life changed from turbulent, to a very quiet, family life with his wife, Yuri, and his son, Eli. He always loved family. During the last year of his life he devoted significant energy to trying to find his place between this world and his bipolar disorder. His condition led him to take his own life. In the last few weeks of his life his conversation often turned to love. Isaiah increasingly chose to share so much more of what he truly thought, what he wrote, what he valued as art, and how these things reflected the love he felt for God and for His creation. We are still discovering the incredibly complex trail of “spiritual breadcrumbs” left by Isaiah for us to discover and to explore.
Isaiah Matthew Thomas is survived by his wife, Yuri; son, Eli; mother, Shari; sister, Sharita; brother, Daniel; and his father W. Robert.
Isaiah will always love his family and his friends, and we will always love him. Love covers a multitude of sins, and God has already shown signs of His mercy for Isaiah Matthew Thomas.
