George Aloysius Thomas

George Aloysius Thomas, Sr. affectionately known as “Dee”, was born on February 22, 1935 in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. He was the son of late George F. Thomas and Agnes L. Thomas.
He attended St. Mary’s County Public Schools. He dedicated most of his working life to farming on the family farm.

In 1956, George was united in holy matrimony to the late Mary Frances Young in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. To this union were born seven children.

George leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, four sons, George A. Thomas, Jr. (June) of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Francis X. Thomas (Boogie) (Janice) of Lusby, Maryland, Charles Thomas (Renee’) of Lexington Park, Maryland and Melvin Butler of Lexington Park, Maryland; four daughters, Joyce Chase (Francis) of Hollywood, Maryland, Agnes Thomas (La La) of Lexington Park, MD, Alice Thomas of Lexington Park, MD and Mary Thomas (Peaches) of Lusby, MD; twenty grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four brothers, Louis X. Thomas, Sr. (Jane), Clarence F. Thomas, Sr. (Ann Marie), Cecil T. Thomas (Sandra) of Mechanicsville, MD, William I. Thomas (Peggy) of Warsaw, VA; his goddaughter Marie Butler. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Thomas; son, Charles S. Thomas; brothers, Joseph X. Hall, Sr. , Kelly A. Thomas and James B. Thomas; sister-in-law, Delores A. Thomas, his grandson Francis Chase, Jr. and nephew Joseph X. Hall, Jr.

Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church 2911 Point Lookout, Marganza MD Wednesday June 30, 2010 9am.
