
Elizabeth Denise Young, fondly known by those who loved her as “Neicey”, was born on November 7, 1965, in Leonardtown, MD to Betty Ann Goforth. She passed away in her home in Lexington Park, MD on July 5, 2020, surrounded by love and light.
Neicey was raised in St. Mary’s County, completing her education with the St. Mary’s County Public Schools and graduating from Leonardtown High in 1983. Later in life, Neicey would pursue her secondary education, earning an Associate’s Degree in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. Neicey would take her degree and apply it to her career at Bayside Nursing Home, Walden Sierra, Three Oaks and even volunteered on the rescue squad as an EMT.
Neicey was always willing to lend a helping hand and give a good word to anyone who may have needed it. She was a God-fearing woman and one of her passions was teaching the word of God. Neicey took her passion for the Lord and became a Deaconess at Park Hall True Holiness Church and was later a Lay Leader at Zion United Methodist Church.
Preceding Denise in death are her grandson, Malachi Young and grandmother, Francis Dorsey.
She leaves behind a loving mother, Betty Ann Goforth; three children, Kaleena Miles (Darryl), Johntonna and Joseph Young; Bonus Daughter, Shannon Blackwell; grandchildren, Christian Bell, Jalen Bell, Jeremiah Young, Nicholas Young, Joseph Young, Jr., Ladrea Miles, Alisha Miles and Darryl Miles Jr.; brothers, Frank (Tanya) and Paul (Shauna) Bennett ; sisters, Janice (Jerry) Patrick and Yolanda (Kem) Basemore; very special friends, John Young, Lynn Frederick, Catherine Anne Stewart and Robin Miles, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:00 am at Park Hall True Holiness Church, 47690 Park Hall Rd, Park Hall, MD 20667.
My Condolences to the family for the loss of Nicey, you were more to me then a friend, you were like a Sister, we grew up together our family was always as one. You had that sweetest personality that truly will be missed.
