Eddie Nelson

Eddie Junior Nelson (Mose) was born on June 14, 1943 in Rita, West Virginia. He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2013. He was the loving son of the late Reverend Doctor Eddie and Clara Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Louise Garrett and brothers John Lewis Nelson and Earl Michael Nelson.
Eddie joined Calvary Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church located in Washington, D.C. Eddie graduated from Huntington High School. In 1969 he relocated to Seat Pleasant, Maryland. He lived in Washington, D.C. from 1982 to 1999. During this time he was active in the community and was a boy scout leader. He moved to Camp Springs, Maryland in 1999.
Eddie worked 30 years as a building engineer for the Board of Education of Prince Georges County, Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He retired in August 2005.
Eddie was a quiet and peaceful man who exemplified a deep faith in the Lord. He was a 3rd degree Mason. Eddie enjoyed playing basketball and chess with family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed getting into heated discussions concerning sports statistics. However, his favorite team was the Washington Redskins.
Eddie is survived by four brothers, Isaiah (JoAnn) Nelson of Huntington, West Virginia; Willie (Evelyn) Nelson of Detroit, Michigan; James (Shirley) Nelson of Camp Springs, Maryland; and Charles (Barbara) Nelson of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Annette (Michael) Smith of Akron, Ohio, and Peggy Friday of Huntington, West Virginia; aunt Wilma (Clarence) Simmons of Buffalo, New York; and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
