
Donald West Thompson, affectionately known as Donnie, was born on November 21, 1954 in Cheverly, Md. to the late Robert “Roy” and the late Theresa Maudine Thompson.
He departed this life on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Bethesda Naval Center.
Donnie graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro, Md. After graduating, Donnie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Donnie served for 21 years and then retired. While serving his time in the Marines, he was honoring our country fighting in Desert Storm.
Donnie was a die-hard sports fan of the Washington Redskins. Donnie was a very loving father, grandfather and brother to his family and extended family. Donnie was a proud Native of his tribe Piscataway Conoy American Indian in Charles County Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert “Roy” and the late Theresa Maudine Thompson, his brothers Robert “Robbie” Roy Thompson Jr. and Jerome Neil Thompson, and his nephews Joseph “Big Mac” Proctor, Jr., Robert “Buster” Thompson and his niece
Lamon “Shelly” Wright.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Ann and his children, Benita Victoria and her husband Chris Proctor and Vanessa Carmen and her husband Delante Spriggs; his stepchildren Gene, Evelyn, and Jeremie; his brothers Timothy “Timmy” Hayes and his wife Monica, Ernest Clayton “Clay”; his sisters Theresa Maudine “Cherry” Thompson, R. Sandee “Peaches” and her husband Leroy Proctor and Nancy Janet and her husband Tony Richardson; his sister-in-laws Migadilia “Miggie” and Agnes Thompson; his grandchildren Jasmine, Chrissaundra, Joseph and Jordan; his step-grandchildren Dajah, Darvin, Sumayah and Jeramiha; sixteen nephews, six nieces, a host of great nephews, great nieces, family and his daughter’s mother Marian Victoria Jordan.
