Christian Lamar Alexander Gray, 26 years young, was a much-loved son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. Christian gained his wings on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland with his parents, family and close friends by his side. Christian was born on August 10, 1993 in Belleville, Illinois and has resided in Waldorf, Maryland for the past fifteen (15) years. Christian obtained his high school diploma from Maurice J. McDonough High School in 2011, an Associates of Science Degree in Business Administration from the College of Southern Maryland in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the prestigious Towson University in 2016.
As a child, Christian grew up in a home that was filled with love, tradition and strong family values. Christian accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized on Palm Sunday, 2009. He loved his family dearly and whether it was a trip to visit his grandparents, a family reunion, or a backyard barbecue on the deck, he loved getting together to fellowship with his family and friends. Christian became the “Grill Master” and the “Kikkoman King”, preparing many delicious spreads in the summertime! Christian was extremely smart and talented in many ways. He made excellent grades in school and participated in several extracurricular activities including band, basketball, swimming, choir and track and field. Christian was always focused and excited about experiencing life! Once he mastered one skill, he quickly moved on to conquer the next challenge.
Christian began his adult career at Enterprise Car Rental where he had worked his way through the ranks to join the company’s Management team. After three years of hard work and dedication at Enterprise, Christian applied for a federal position with the Defense Intelligence Agency. After only one interview, he was hired as the CIO IT Requirements Manager. Christian was a true businessman. He was professional, well-spoken and always head-to-toe dressed for success!
Christian, better known as “JJ” by his friends, also known as “The Boy Wonder” and “Mr. Man” by his family, was God-fearing, funny, a fighter, charming, fashionable, clean-cut, and respectful! It was rare to see him upset and he never met a stranger who did not become his friend. His smile was captivating and by the same measure, extremely contagious. He meant so much to a lot of people and his memory will live on in our hearts forever!
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mable Etheridge and Dorothy Murphy.
Christian is survived by his grandfather, Wassee Etheridge; mother and father, Gennett and Christopher Gray; brother, Gabriel Gray; brother-in-law, Simeon Amaru; sisters, Sachia Gray-Amaru, Tona Landers, Anya Gray; nephews, Jared Zeigler, Caiden and Cameron Amaru; great nephew, Tayelyn Hood; nieces, Destinee Hood, Sanaa Clark, Gianna Amaru, Brittney Amaru, as well as a host of other beloved family and friends.
Family and friends will unite on Thursday, January 30, 2020 for visitation at 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Mt. Ennon Baptist Church, 9832 Piscataway Rd, Clinton, MD 20735. Interment will be private.
He fought a good fight, he kept his faith in God and lived life to the fullest!

I didn’t know Christian very well , however we always spoke to each other in passing, and while at work at DIA. Such a professional and polished young man. His smile would light up the building. I was so shocked and sadden to here of his passing. I send my condolences, hugs and prayers to his family.
It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.
It was my honor to meet and get to know Christian at work. We worked in the same building and would often run into each other as the day progressed. I will always remember his smile, our conversations about music/movies, and being the tie breaker for His and Brittinis friendly/competitive difference of opinion. His light will ever shine in those touched by his gentle soul.
Thank you for sharing Christian with all of us. We are better because of the imprint/impact he made in our lives. Keeping the entire family in my prayers as we mourn and celebrate a gift God blessed us with.

Christian was truly a great person with lots of light, laughter, and love for people. I only knew for a short time, but I truly miss working with him.
Christian,
I will miss seeing your bright, smiling face at work. Im still in shock but Im so grateful to have met you. I will miss our bickering, inside jokes, nicknames, our competitiveness, and our endless talks and laughs. I can still hear you singing in the car to your Teddy Pendergrass and Stylistics playlists lol.
You lived life to the fullest and had a radiant and carefree spirit that charmed everyone you met. Ill remember how you spoke so highly about the things you loved your parents, siblings, family/friends, and football. So many people are mourning the loss of a great man. I will miss you.
Christian, to say that I miss you is an understatement. It still doesnt feel real and I am not ready to accept it. You had an amazing spirit about you that just drew people to you. You were so outgoing, kind, caring, sweet and overall just enjoyable to be around. I met you my 10th grade year through Zakiyyah and from there we all just drew closer. I was always so excited to come home and chill with you, Zakiyyah and Kendall every time I came home from college. I knew being already yall would be nothing, but good vibes and laughter. I would give anything to go back in time to share those moments with you once more, to hear your laugh, for you to say something so corny but funny, and to give you one last hug. I will forever remember you and our friendship, Christian. I pray that I get to see you again! You are loved and missed by so many. I pray for everyones healing during the difficult time. We love you, Christian!
Christian’s light was never one to be missed. He always had a way of pulling me in with his infectious laugh and was always smiling at something. Everywhere he was at was a great time whether he was barbecuing on the deck, listening to music, or chilling in the living room. Our friendship started in 9th grade at his locker and evolved into something beautiful that I will always cherish in my heart. The memory of his love and life will live on with me and all those he’s touched forever. Sending prayers and my deepest condolences and love to his family and friends.
Everlasting peace to you young brother. And sincere condolences to your family. Peace be with God.
I already miss my friend, my neighbor a court over, my classmate since 4th grade, Christian sooo much. Wishing that i heard his laugh once more, saw his big smile once more. Gave him one more hug. Felt his energy once more, Christian had this thing about him where he was so outgoing and hung out with many different types of people. He would bring the most unlikely people together wherever he went, and he’s still doing it. He has brought some of my old friends i haven’t spoken to since 2011 back together. Thank you Christian for all of the blessings you’ve brought to us. You have truly been a treasure to be around. We love you and I pray we meet again. Keep smiling over us.
I am truly sorry for your loss. May peace find your family in this difficult time.
I did not know this beautiful man of God but would have loved to have known him. It is rare to see a young man loved by many served his community, move forward continuously in life, others and the Lord the way it is expressed in his obit. He is where he is needed, miss him but do not grieve long for him. He is doing fine with the father, still smiling waiting on the rest you to join them. Stay strong, keep the faith, stay prayed up and keep smiling in Jesus name.
I didn’t know Christian and I recently found out as a DIA Employee. Just wanted to send my condolences and rest in the Heavens.
I pray for your familys strength and health. May your minds and hearts be filled with the memories of your loved one. He is now your angel.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Christian had a smile that could light up an entire room. He was an amazing friend, someone who constantly wanted to help and make you laugh. This world didnt deserve Christian but he made it a better place. Christian was a God send and he is now at peace, no longer suffering. I am going to miss my friend. I love you.
May the God of all comfort sustain your family during the days ahead Psalms 119:76
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

One day the Lord will wipe away every tear. Be encouraged in the Lord always. Love, Mechelle and Wilkins family.
My best friend, and my brother. You were there for me for every accomplishment, every failure. You always encouraged me to strive to do great things. Growing up I feel like we did everything together from playing basketball outside to video games or talking on the phone with Aaron forever . Any time I came home from college or grad school you were always the first person I wanted to see. I truly will cherish all of the moments we shared together. You were such a genuine person and such a great friend to so many people. Your smile could brighten an entire room, you always saw the best in everyone, always a bright outlook on life, You were hilarious man and just had this way of bringing all of us together. Anytime I wanted to know how one of our old friends were doing you always knew. Saying we will miss you is an understatement. It was an honor to have you in my life and to be able to call you not just a friend but a brother. I love you man. Rest easy Christian you will never be forgotten as you left a great legacy behind you.
