Charles Richard “Tee” Winters-Estep

WINTERS ESTEP CHARLES

Charles “Tee” Winters-Estep was born on September 3, 1964 to the late Gladys and Charles Estep of Mechanicsville, MD. Tee was surrounded by his loving family at George Washington Hospital on Thursday, August 10, 2023, when he departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father.  Tee received his education in the St. Mary’s County Public School System, graduating from Great Mills High in 1983, Great Mills, MD.

Tee established a long life of forty-two years full of love and laughter with his high school sweetheart, Ann “Niecy” Hewlett.  They became the “favorite” uncle and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Together Tee and Niecy raised their adored son, Tavaris Hewlett. Tee was a dedicated son, life partner, brother, uncle, and employee. He put his all into those he loved and everything he did.

After graduation, Tee was employed with various Government Contractors supporting the Naval Air Station; the first being American Electronics where he was employed for over ten years as a shipping and receiving clerk supervisor. He continued his career as an extraordinary employee and supervisor for over fifteen years with Compliance Corporation. His commitment and exceptional work ethic as an employee shined through in his many accolades achieved throughout his career. During his tenure as a supervisor, Tee was recognized for his outstanding service, receiving the Performance Award several times in 2007, 2009, and 2012 and he also received the President’s Award for superior performance in 2006 and 2008. Tee was a shining star at work and within his relationships among family and friends.

Along with his parents, Gladys and Charles, Tee is preceded in death by his son, Tavaris Hewlett; his aunts, Agnes Jordan, Loretta Medley, Barbara Ann Winters, and Charlotte Estep Thomas; his uncles, James, Joseph, and Edward Winters and James, Louis, Joseph, David, Michael, and Rodney Estep; his mother and father-in-love, Doris and Alfred Hewlett; his brother-in-loves, Ricky Sr., Charles Sr., and Shawn Hewlett, Barry Moore, and Horace McClane Sr.

Tee leaves to cherish his memories his life partner, Niecy; his sisters, Diane “Sue Sue” Harris (Jerry), Sheila Coates (Russell), Mary “Sissy” Estep (Mark), Cheryl Warren (Daryl), and Jowana and Jessica Holton; his brothers, Wayne Estep (Cheryl), and Jerry Estep; his aunts, Wilma Estep and Yvonne Robinson and his uncles, Carroll Winters and Lawrence Estep; his sister-in-loves, Donna Moore, Linda McClane (his roommate), Janice and Rhonda Hewlett, Ava Maddox (Xavier), Cheryl Jones (Mike), and Tracy Travers; his brother-in-loves, Mitchell, and Everett “Fitzy” Hewlett, and Brian Smith; six godchildren, Dinecia Harris, Harmony McClane, DiMarco St. George, Terrell Thomas, Kayla and Amber Young; special friends, Dan Smith, Joe Joe Somerville, and Jamie Swales, along with a host of other relatives and friends.   

Family and friends will unite on Friday, August 25, 2023 for visitation at 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 16922 St. Peter Claver Road, St Inigoes, MD 20684.  Interment to follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church cemetery, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
