
Carlton Bell, Sr., 66, of Waldorf, MD, formerly of Pahokee, FL, passed away January 27, 2017 in Waldorf. Carlton was born to Mary Elizabeth Summers and John Bell on July 3, 1950. After matriculating from high school in Utica, NY, he joined the United States Navy. With 21 years of service, he retired in May of 1993. He started his second career working for a law firm before becoming a parole and probation officer for the State of Maryland for 16 years and retiring December 31, 2016. Carlton is survived by his wife, Lurleen Bell of Waldorf; daughters: Robin Flowers and Tunisia King; sons: Keyon Bell and Carlton Bell, Jr.; six grandchildren: Michael Flowers, Erron Coleman, De’Quan (Roshumba) Mushatt, Quajuan Flowers, Zharia King and Zi’ere King; great-grandchildren: Mariyah Flowers, Mikiya Flowers and hosts of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on held at Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Gospel Church, 11150 Berry Road, Waldorf, MD, 20603. Dr. Timothy Wood officiating.
