Carl Irwin Brundidge

Brundidge Carl Irwin

February 10, 2023, Carl Irwin Brundidge passed away at the age of 67. Carl was born to Bishop and Jessie Brundidge in 1955 in Flint, Michigan. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Kettering University (General Motors Institute), and a juris doctorate from George Washington University. Carl enjoyed a successful career as a patent attorney for several decades and led his own law firm for over 10 years. In 1983, he married Karen, and together they raised three daughters, Danisha, Jessica, and Destiny in the Washington DC area.

Carl loved his work, and his impact was worldwide. Whether for leisure, exploration, or business he was an avid traveler, and visited every continent (including Antarctica!). When he wasn’t working, Carl loved deep sea fishing, relaxing on tropical beaches, and experiencing new adventures. Carl loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending quality time with them. He was often described as having a calm presence…like a “cool breeze” and at times a “quiet storm”. Carl had a megawatt smile that could brighten any room.

Carl is preceded in death by his father Bishop, and his sister Sandra. He is survived by his cherished wife Karen, his beloved daughters Destiny, Jessica and Danisha, his son-in-law Jonathan, his grandchildren Jonathan and Chase, his mother Jessie, his parents-in-law Jean and Jim, his sisters Patricia and Deborah, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close relatives.

    Dear Karen,
Please accept deepest condolences. I was saddened to learn about Carl’s passing. He started some work for me last year, and we hadn’t talked in a while. I attempted to reach on 2/15 and couldn’t so I didn’t really know what was happening until I spoke with a colleague that I recommended to Carl, and he told me that Carl passed away last week. 3. Ibu El says:

My deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences in the loss of your loved one, Carl Brundige. He was a good friend and one of the good guys at Kettering U. aka GMI. My recollection is that he took the most difficult combination of engineering majors, mechanical and electrical disciplines. But, he handled himself and his responsibilities with dignity and a positive attitude. Although, we lost touch over the years, I never forgot my brother, Carl. May he forever rest in peace, power and paradise (RIP3)

  6. Briana Jones says:

    To my favorite Uncle….

I want to start off by saying this was extremely hard to type out. I still can’t believe you have gone to be with our father in heaven. And I honestly don’t think it’s going to set in for me for a long time. I simply want to thank you for every single thing you have ever done for me. I wish I could’ve had more time to repay you although I know you probably wouldn’t have accepted. I appreciate you for taking me under your wing when I lost my mom some years back… and just making sure I had everything I needed to succeed in life. I am forever indebted to you.

I thank God everyday that I had a chance to have some one on one time with you last year when I came to visit you in Florida. My soul needed it and now I can see why. You told me then how proud of me you were and how much I reminded you so much of “your baby sister” as you would say. That conversation and the sincere look in your face will be ingrained in my memory until God calls me home…& when he does, I will be sooo elated because I have some of the world most phenomenal humans beings to have every walked this planet waiting for me on the other side.

I hope I continue to make you proud up there… and visit me in my dreams whenever you want.

Until we can skate again … ❤️ I’ll BCNU.

I am praying for your peace and comfort today, and always Aunt Karen, Jessica, Destiny and Danisha.

    With Love Bri.
