
Bryant Dent passed away on Friday September 18, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born in Leonardtown, Maryland and spent his entire life in St. Mary’s County. Bryant was a graduate of Chopticon High School where he enjoyed playing basketball, nights at Budd’s Creek race track, and socializing. Shortly after his graduation, Bryant was in a serious automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. Once injured Bryant did not want people to feel sorry for him. Having lived as a quadriplegic for 23 years Bryant came to the point in his life where he would give sound advice to any young person whom he came in contact. Bryant was a man with a big heart always wanting to see children do well. He enjoyed nearly every sport, but favored the Redskins, Nationals, and Wizards. In 2010 Bryant Dent received a motorized wheelchair. After which he became a faithful member of the Freedom Baptist Church of Southern, Maryland. Bryant is survived by Frank Dent (uncle), Thomas and Judy Spears (great uncle & aunt), Audrey Spears Isaac, Francis Spears Wade, Teresa Spears Hardy, and Judy Douglas Spears (great aunts), second cousins Eric Spears and Tony Spears, and many more cousins. Bryant Dent is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret “Priscilla” Dent, his father, Charles Bowman, and his grandparents George and Margaret Dent.Family and friends will unite on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 38576 Brett Way, Mechanicsville, Md.
