
Brenda Eleanor Williams was born February 20, 1951, in Leonardtown, Maryland to Agnes Cecelia Mason Blackistone and Wilson “W” Woodrow Williams. She attended St. Mary’s County Public Schools and graduated from Great Mills High School in 1970. At the time of her death, she was employed with the United States Government, Department of Defense,Naval Health Clinic at Patuxent River. During her 38 years of government service, she also worked at “Galley 5”, and the Naval Hospital. During her career she received numerous awards and was looking forward to retirement.
Brenda gave her life to Christ and joined First Missionary Baptist Church of Lexington Park in June of 2006. She was a member of the Usher’s Ministry. Like her son, Brenda had amazing drawing skills and enjoyed baking her famous pound cake, cheering for the Redskins, sewing, dancing, watching movies and spending time with her grandchildren.
Brenda leaves to cherish fond memories her mother Agnes Blackistone and daughter Tonya Blake of Lexington Park, MD, granddaughters Janae Blake (Nashville,TN) and Jamarea Allen (Lynchburg, VA), and grandson Dennis Allen(Lexington Park, MD). She also survived by her sisters and brothers, Elizabeth (Betty) Blackistone, Jennifer Brown (Eli), Renee Shelton (Danny), Bridgette Hughes (Bennie), Claudia Barnett, Diane Scriber (Phil), Lionel and Kevin Williams (Arlene), John and Vernon Eldridge. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Tiye Ray, Danyelle Barnette, Ashley, Alisa and Kaylyn Williams, Jenifer Brown, Rontell Bryan, Warren Marshall III, Travis (Davida) and Tramaine Hughes, Brandon Williams, Daniel Shelton, Jonathan Brown, special friend Joseph Berry, her beloved dog “Paris”, who is really like her third child and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Wilson “W” Williams, son Kevin (“KT”) Troy Williams, sister Elizabeth Bryan, and stepmother Mary Banks Williams.
The family will receive friends Saturday September 10, 2011 from 9 am until time of service at 11 am at the First Missionary Baptist Church 47359 Lincoln Avenue Lexington Park, Maryland. Reverend R.W. McClananhan officiating. Interment immediately following at First Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
