“Antonio L. Abney, Jr. was born November 28, 1968 in Washington DC to Barbara and Antonio L. Abney Sr. He was the second of 3 children. Tony departed this life on July 3, 2021 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He attended school in the Prince Georges County School System where he graduated in 1988. He continued his education and received certifications in Information Technology and Cyber Security. Tony was employed at DC Water for 13 years and was a Disc Jockey (DJ) for many years. Tony recently started his own car detailing business, “”Attention to Detail II”” and as a pastime, he began to study and play bass guitar. Tony and Tiffany were united in Matrimony in November of 1995. They both became members of First Baptist Church Glenarden in 1996 where they received Christ and were baptized together. They later went on to attend Zion Church along with their daughters. Tony was a family man; he was a wonderful Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Uncle. As active as he was known to be, he shared many memories with his daughters. They enjoyed activities together such as go kart racing at Autobahn, snowball fights, and snow-tubing. He really enjoyed boxing with his youngest daughter, Toni. One of his favorite bonding moments was teaching all his girls how to play the DJ turntable and ensuring that they heard the newest music that came out. With his love for music and humor, Tony, for some odd reason became famous for telling his girls that Drake (the music artist) was their cousin. As we all know, Tony always found humor in everything. Tony became a Master Mason on March 18th, 2006 with E.J. Williams Lodge #141, in the Maryland jurisdiction. He was then installed as Worshipful Master on June 16th, 2010. After serving as Worshipful Master, he went on to serve as Right Worshipful in the Grand Lodge of Maryland. One of his proudest moments was assisting his father in raising his brother Alan to become a Master Mason in Charles Datcher Lodge #15, in Washington, DC. Tony truly enjoyed comradeship with his fellow masonic brothers throughout the years. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 25 years, Tiffany; 3 daughters, Alexis, Ashley and Toni; parents, Antonio and Barbara Abney, Sr.; sister, Anjanette “”Nicky”” Higgs (brother-in-law, Johnie Jr.); brother, Alan; nieces, Jenae’ Higgs and Samyra Abney; grandmother, Dorothea Abney; father-in-law, Warren Scott Woolfolk; (Bonus mother-in-law, Doris); Godparents, Bernard and Ann Smith, and a whole host of uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and co-workers. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 2294 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and on Friday, July 16, 2021, there will be a PRIVATE FUNERAL SERVICE at Zion Church, 8829 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD from 10:00 a.m. until hour of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be for immediate family only.
