Anthony Wydell Chase

Chase, Anthony online + marquee

Anthony Wydell Chase died on July 5, 2023.  He was born in Washington, D.C., on October 11, 1962, to Laurice White.  Wydell graduated from Great Mills High School, Great Mills, Maryland in 1981, and attended Washington Business School in Washington D.C.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Chase and son Antonio, his two sisters Lovey Gabriel, Faith Althea Meath (Anthony), nephews Christopher, Alexander, Chase, Glenn Jr., Brandon, Bryant and nieces Courtney and Britiny and an array of extended family and friends.

Wydell enjoyed his career in business and marketing but his most memorable time was working as a Passport Analyst at CGI/Federal with his son Antonio.  He treasured every moment commuting to and from Washington D.C. along with his son.  On a daily basis, they enjoyed having lunch together when possible.  Wydell admired and often commended Antonio for his professional work ethics.

Wydell took notice of Rhonda’s unique and admirable personality.  He often expressed that she was extremely focused, dependable and he had implicit trust in the decisions she made. They were married on May 4, 1996.   They had  twenty-seven wonderful years together.  After accepting a Bible study and learning about his wonderful God, Jehovah, he dedicated his life to him and was baptized on December 13, 2015.   He was thrilled to become a part of Jehovah’s worldwide family.

At any social event family and friends would yearn for him to be in attendance knowing that he would spark life and vitality on such an occasion.  His story telling of hilarious things that occurred in his life as a young man would make the most uptight person laugh out loud.  He was honest, never fearing to be himself. Some of his favorite expressions were “don’t sugarcoat it” and “take pictures.”  He loved being around water, laughing, listening to music and stand-up comedy and dancing.   Never did he allow anyone to steal his joy.  While Wydell had much joy in life he had a phobia of height – so climbing a ladder or riding a roller coaster was not his cup of tea.

His whole world was his wife Rhonda, son and “only seed” Antonio whom he often referred to as “my baby boy, pride and joy”, “bear” and “son of a king.”  Wydell greatly adored his wife and expressed on many occasions his full confidence in her and would say “Rhonda got it and I love that girl.”  He always expressed deep love for his son and assured him that he was special to him and that he would strive to be the best father possible. Although last week was a shock for everyone, we know that he believed in the resurrection. The hope of a time when “pain will be no more” and “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” (Revelation 21:3,4/John 5:28,29)

Services will be held for Mr. Anthony Wydell Chase on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Kingdom Hall located at 535 Washington Ave.; LaPlata, MD.  Visitation is from 10am until the start of service at noon.

I know the pain that comes with the loss of a husband that unexpectedly dies. It truly hurts! I also know that Jehovah knows exactly how you and your son feel at this time because of the death of someone so dear to you.
