Amanda Patricia Garey

Amanda Patricia Garey was born on June 11, 1991 at the Washington Hospital Center to Rita Garey and the late Wade Lewis Puryear.
Amanda received her education in the District of Columbia schools. She attended Seaton Elementary School, Jefferson Junior High School and Cardoza Senior High School. While pursuing her education, Amanda received numerous awards such as the Presidential Math Award and the Lockheed Martin Award.
During Amanda’s short time on earth, she made an impact on everyone she met with her beautiful smile which was as bright as the sun.
Amanda is survived by and leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Rita Garey; sisters, Monique Garey and Brook Puryear; grandmothers, Pauline Ford and Lillian Puryear; her grandfather, Richard Garey (Barbara); several aunts, Paula Grayson, Renee Ratiff (Michael), Monica Garey, Kimberly Garey, Tina Garey, Helena Garey, Rita Garey, Olga Sherrod, Carla Drew (Godmother) and Terrell Kirby (Godmother); uncles, Major Artemus (Christina), Edward Ford, Darrell Wilson, Rickey Garey, Richard Garey, Jr., and Steven Garey. Amanda also leaves to cherish her memories many great aunts and uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family and friends will unite on Saturday, September 29, 2012 for visitation at 9 am until time of service at 10 am at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1500 9th St., N.W., Washington, D.C.
