
Almira Marie Chase was born on June 9, 1959 to the late John Elmer Chase, Sr. and Sadie Marie Hopewell Chase. She was born the 5th of 9 brothers and sisters. Almira was called to eternal rest on Friday January 20, 2023, at the age of 63.
Almira was educated in St. Mary’s County Schools graduating from Great Mills High School in 1978. Almira later attended the Washington School for Secretaries completing a course in Data Entry Operations in 1982.
After working various other jobs in St. Mary’s County, Almira decided to enroll in special training classes for in-home healthcare patients. Her love for caring for the sick and handicapped in the privacy of their homes was her specialty. Her favorite patients were caring for her own family during their illness. Almira loved being with her family and her family loved being with her.
Almira was preceded in death by her parents, John Chase, Sr. and Sadie M. Chase; brothers, Benedict and Michael Chase and her nephews, William I. Jackson, Jr. and David B. Chase and also, her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her daughter, Roneshia Marshall; son, Rondell Thompson; grandson, Liam Marshall; her brothers and sisters, Gwendolyn Jackson, Ezra Chase (Delores), Vanessa Summers, Linda Chase, John E. Chase Jr. (Rita), Joshua Chase (Aretha) and a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, great-niece, great- nephews and special friends.
Family and friends will unite on Monday, January 30, 2023 for visitation at 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 16922 St. Peter Claver Rd, St. Inigoes, MD 20684. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
